New Shapes

New Shapes

I wanted to emulate a shape I saw online by Kay Stratford. The first challenge was finding out what the shape would look like in 2D. I experimented with a wrapping a small circle like a mini burrito and carved away at it, then rolled it back out flat to see what the shape would be. Then I scaled it up with a photocopier. I couldn’t get it to belly out though, as the clay I was using didn’t want to stretch and kept breaking. So I’ll likely have another go at some point. I already have a pot-adopter for this one.

I’m Caroline

I’m a retired, disabled teacher who has now refocused on clay as therapy, and my mission is to share the process to help others. Not everyone can afford expensive courses, tools and templates, so I’m hoping to provide as much as I can for free or for less than the price of a coffee. All my pieces can be made on a small table using a minimum of tools.
